Who is Linda Fisk? Maybe you know her. She is vice president and regional manager of Jeff Bank and she oversees the bank’s Livingston Manor and Wurtsboro branches.

Fisk’s responsibilities include opening accounts, assisting customers with mortgage applications and occasionally serving as a teller, as well as doing some mentoring and coaching at the Liberty and Wurtsboro branches.

PROFILE SERIES

This is another of Manor Ink’s interviews with Livingston Manor business owners and managers who are women.

“I pretty much do anything that needs to be done,” she said.

Anybody can use the Livingston Manor branch for their banking needs, and those needs usually increase during the spring and summer months. Because the coronavirus pandemic brought many people from New York City and other areas to the Catskills looking for homes, there was an increase in buyers wanting mortgages from Jeff Bank.

“I enjoy my Jeff Bank family, my coworkers and all the people I am able to help and assist, not only in Livingston Manor, but from anywhere,” said Fisk.

Many people from Manor seem to know Fisk, and enjoy her help, just as much as she enjoys helping them. Manor Ink noticed that she has a great sense of humor and is a pleasure to be around. And the people of Livingston Manor seem to feel the same way. “The small towns we deal with are like our families,” she said.

When asked what were three words would best characterize her, Fisk thought for a moment and then said she would describe herself as “fun, selfless and determined.”

Fisk has worked at Jeff Bank for 30 years. She originally wanted to be a certified public accountant, but then she started working at the bank as a teller. She worked her way up through different positions, educating herself through New York Bankers Association classes. She also praises the great mentors who helped her. Now she plays that role for others just starting out in the business.

Outside of work, Fisk is a member of the Livingston Manor Chamber of Commerce. She is also a board member of Sullivan County BOCES, where she represents the Livingston Manor school district. “As a board, we adopt policies and work closely with the Superintendent and administration on financial and personnel matters.” She has been a member of the board for ten years.

She also loves to spend time with her family and friends. Besides that, she likes to garden, play golf and travel. Linda’s favorite trips have been to Hawaii, England and the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
