Class of 2026 moves on

First to graduate from Rockland’s merged districts

Town of Rockland, NY – On Saturday, June 27, a gala ceremony was held for the first graduating class of the Town of Rockland’s newly merged school districts. Rockland Central School’s Class of 2026 processed into the new gym on the school’s Livingston Manor campus in the school’s gymnasium to celebrate the graduation of its 60 members.

Following the singing of “The Stars-Spangled Banner,” Class President Adam Rivera led the graduates and the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. The class’s co-valedictorians were Frances Ball and Robert Eckert; Halie Cheng and Adam Rivera were its co-salutatorians. Featured speaker was Jeffrey W. Piontek, a noted educator, author and education advocate, and Choral Music Director Jordana Maraj led the senior choir in a performance of “Homeward Bound” by Jay Althouse.

Future plans for the members of the Class of 2026 include attending two- and four-year colleges, studying everything from computer science and criminal justice to nursing and social work. Others will join the workforce in construction or electrical engineering.
