Livingston Manor, NY – Ice royalty once again held court in Livingston Manor Central School’s old gym during the annual Ice Carnival Dance hosted by the hamlet’s Rotary Club.
The affair is the traditional kick-off for the club’s renowned Ice Carnival, scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 30. The preceding Friday, students from grades 9 through 12 dressed to impress and danced from 6:45 to 9:45 p.m. The theme for this year’s fete was “A Night in the Jungle,” and each of the four classes decorated a corner of the gym in a competition for the best effort. Winners were the Junior Class of 2023.
Selecting a King and Queen of the Ice was a high point of the evening. The previous sovereigns were seniors Sean Nichols and Julia Trottie. The nominees for this year were Gabe Ivory, Brandon Nuñez and Anthony Mendoza for king, and Sheone Santiago, Megan Cristaldi and Sienna Dutcher for queen. When the votes were counted, Anthony Mendoza and Sienna Dutcher were the winners. They were crowned as their royal subjects cheered.
