Note to readers: The Livingston Manor School Board meetings have been rescheduled for the fourth Monday of each month, often too late to be published in a timely manner in the print edition of the paper. Manor Ink’s monthly reports will thus appear regularly here online, and in the print paper whenever possible. This report is incomplete and will be updated once additional information on the meeting is forthcoming.
LMCS writers take 1st place in national contest
School Board Meeting of Feb. 24
By Marge Feuerstein | Manor Ink Mentor
Presentation: Last year's 6th graders’ writings were entered into a contest sponsored by Young Writers, an organization that holds national writing contests for school students. The students' work, featured in “Crazy Creatures – Beyond the Jungle,” was judged the best set of entries received from over 150 schools. They won the Young Writers Award Of Excellence, the first place trophy.
Superintendent John Evans advised the board that because of upcoming capital projects, there will be no summer programs this year.
Consent Agenda: The consent agenda was approved as presented.
The specifics of all action items and those in the consent agenda are not read aloud at meetings. However, all dollar amounts, details of action items and the consent agenda can be found at lmcs.k12.ny.us under the minutes of Feb. 24.
