Parksville, NY – Have you ever seen a movie shorter than three minutes? There is a first time for everything, folks, starting with the wildly creative Too Short to Suck Film Festival held at New Memories in this hamlet. The music-and-art venue debuted its 2026 gala showing of films limited to only two minutes in length on Saturday, May 30. Contributors had until May 4 to submit their opuses, and the festival award ceremony was live-streamed over the internet.

The event began with a red carpet photo session of auteurs and guests, followed by a quick happy hour with much chatting and more photos amid the art displayed around the bar. New Memories had set up two screening rooms for attendees to watch the films.

Manor Ink interviewed Todd Perlmutter of the Parksville Arts Center, the director who started the festival. “This is the third year for Too Short to Suck, and every year the movies get better and better,” he said. “The format is really flexible and fun, so more and more people are excited to record anything just to submit a film.”

At 7 p.m., the movies began. It was a full house and the Ink had front row seats to see all the amazing films. Some were animations, others were comedies or horror flicks, and a few offered important life lessons. All of them included the words “Too short to suck.”

After an hour of films, it was time for awards. They included “Best Cinematography,” “Best Animation,” “Most TSTS” and “Weirdest Premise.”

“Our goal was to create something that was community involving,” said Perlmutter, speaking of the purpose behind the festival. “An event where anybody can participate, no matter how professional they are. There is a creative spark in this area and we want to support it!”

And there you have the Too Short to Suck Film Festival, brought to you by New Memories. You, too, can submit a short film by going to tstsfilmfest.com next year and attend the festival because you will have a great time.
