Master baker opens storefront location

Jeffersonville, NY – Have you been craving new desserts and treats lately, but you don’t know of sweets shops nearby? Manor Ink has the perfect bakery for you.

Cuppie Cake Desserts, which opened in November 2024, is a friendly dessert bakery located on Main Street in Jeffersonville. It is the perfect place to chill out and sample the most delicious desserts you could possibly think of. Store owner and baker Heather DeGori has created a beautiful and unique bakery. With its indoor pastel décor, fun furniture and eye-catching greenery, you immediately feel the comfy vibe.

DeGori has worked hard to become the proprietor of a successful storefront business. She began her journey as a master baker by gaining valuable experience at the Wilton School of Cake Decorating & Confectionery Art in Chicago. It was there, with her sister Kim, that she gained beneficial baking experience during a month-long training intensive.

Once the sisters returned home, they decided to start a business together and created K & H Confections. But, as time went by, schooling, marriages and children occupied more of their time, and both sisters decided to take a hiatus. Then, in 2018, they restarted the business as Cuppie Cake Desserts. DeGori credits her children with the bakery’s name, coming from the “cuppies” they love to eat.

Currently, DeGori is the only worker in the bakery after Kim decided to pursue other projects. DeGori now handles both the baking as well as customer service. She credits much of her success to the use of social media, where customers can see eye-catching pictures of her products and read reviews. This important tool has helped her business to flourish. DeGori works very hard to make sure every detail of her creations is perfect – and her finished products are proof of that.

Several of the ingredients in the shop’s confections are supplied by local farms. DeGori uses eggs from Jeffersonville’s Brey’s Egg Farm, syrup from Brock’s Maple Syrup and, during the warmer months, local farm-produced fresh fruits and jams.

Seasonal desserts for the month of March featured at Cuppie Cake are Irish Car Bomb cupcakes, with ingredients such as Guinness beer, chocolate and Jameson whiskey topped with a Bailey’s Irish Cream frosting. The “latte of the month” will be a leprechaun-themed latte with lucky charms. Also, look for ice cream cupcake sundaes, with ice cream possibly sourced from local dairies.
