Livingston Manor, NY – Manorites may have observed construction activity in the former pharmacy building on Main Street that houses Café 43. The premises are being renovated because, according to Jon Westergreen, one of the owners of the building, work is needed to remediate structural problems in the 100-plus year old structure.

“We’ve known this for some time and decided the end of the summer was a good time to move forward,” Westergreen said. The end result will be a remodeled space for Café 43, as well as a new commercial kitchen. The old pharmacy space will be available for another business to rent.

Dawn Egan-Seeno, proprietor of the café, said she is looking forward getting into the new space. “In the meantime, I am enjoying a vacation,” she said, with a laugh.

Westergreen anticipates that the work will take two to three months to complete before the café can reopen.
