Grahamsville, NY – On the weekend of Aug. 18 through 20, the 143rd Grahamsville Little World’s Fair took place. The fair had live music from local artists, rides for all ages, games, shows and great food, all of which made the fair very memorable. This popular local event attracted large crowds, with parking at the fairgrounds reaching maximum capacity, causing many people to park a mile-and-a-half away at Tri-Valley Central School and get bused to the fair.
One of the notable things that happens during Little World’s Fair is the 4-H Youth Fair. The Fair is the most exciting and busiest time of the year for 4-Hers, because the county’s 4-H clubs, their members, leaders and volunteers get to celebrate their achievements. 4-Hers enter projects they have worked on throughout the year, including photos, plants, textiles, club projects and adorable animals big and small.
“I am truly inspired by the dedication, passion and hard work these remarkable individuals demonstrate,” said Colleen Monaghan, executive director of Sullivan County Cornell Cooperative Extension, during the Youth Fair Beef Show.
“The 4-H Youth Development Program has always been a platform for nurturing skills, character and values. The commitment shown by our 4-H youth in raising and presenting their cattle reflects their determination to learn, grow and contribute to their communities,” Monaghan explained.
She went on to say how proud she was of these future agricultural leaders and congratulated all of them for participating in this year’s Youth Fair.
