Grahamsville, NY – As it is every year, the 144th Grahamsville Little World’s Fair was filled with many smiling faces. The fair took place on the weekend of Aug. 16 through 18, and the weather was pleasant, with very reasonable temperatures. The periods of rain were short, allowing everything to go according to schedule with fun for everyone.

Children had plenty of activities to choose from, including a mix of returning and new rides. The introduction of the Demon Loop, the fair’s first upside-down ride in a while, was a particular hit with the older, thrill-seeking kids.

Adults were entertained by the many food vendors featuring various cuisines from Mexico, Italy and even Ecuador. Craft vendors were also a big hit. At night, adults could also sit and listen to live music from local artists such as Albi Beluli, Jesse Noren and The Other Band.

4Hers were the busiest fair attendees, as they spent three days straight caring for, working with and showing cows, sheep, goats, chickens and rabbits. This year, the 4H exhibit building had a greater number of projects entered, with each table packed with prize-winning baked goods, homegrown vegetables, artwork, photography and much more. These youth work super hard throughout the year with their club, parents and mentors, both on their animals and their still exhibits.

As always, Cornell Cooperative Extension staffers who work closely with these kids expressed how proud they were of the members’ hard work and commitment, and are very excited to see how they grow over the next year.
