Roscoe, NY – Moving old things into a new home once again is something Charlotte Taylor has “aced.” She has switched stores twice in five years, and she hopes this latest relocation will be her last move.

Taylor + Ace, her shop, is a vintage emporium that carries furniture, housewares, clothing and many other antiques. Taylor started this business by collecting vintage things she loved. She first opened a store in 2020 in Livingston Manor, and was there for two years. Then, in 2022, Taylor moved and opened a store on Stewart Avenue in Roscoe.

When asked what’s special about her business, Taylor said, “I like that it’s sustainable, you know, things that are over 100 years old that we can still use.”

Taylor + Ace is moving – hopefully – just one more time, from Stewart Avenue to 1975 Old Rte. 17. “We are moving to kind of downsize a bit and make it more manageable,” Taylor said. “Having such a large space has kind of been overwhelming.” Even though the new space is smaller, there will still be enough room to hold the life-sized taxidermied horse that has become a famous icon of the store.

The new interior has a very vintage look, as it had previously been an antique store for decades. The “vibe” is perfect for Taylor’s business, and is what she wants her store’s aesthetic to be. Taylor + Ace has custom made cabinetry in the new store, and there are built-in shelves to hold the vast array of collectables.

The store’s move to the new space will be complete September 27. They will have a ceremonial moving of the horse down Stewart Avenue when the time comes.
